Food

We enjoy serving fine modern British food, with European and world influences. We use local suppliers whenever we can, especially for the best local  and seasonal produce, and meat, bread, and fish (if you can count ‘Dorset’ as local -we moved from Lyme Regis to The Cross Keys).

Mike, our licensee and chef, has worked with many top chefs, including Mark Hix, and Michael Caines. He worked at The Ivy in London, Gidleigh Park in Devon, amongst others, and set up the Oyster and Fish House at Lyme Regis for Mark Hix, before deciding to do exactly what he wanted, here, at The Cross Keys.

Elena, at front of house, has worked with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall at River Cottage, at The Canteen, in Axminster, and other fine restaurants, meeting Mike at the Hix Oyster and Fish House in Lyme.

Together we aim to give you that ’slice of heaven’, by offering you the finest food in cosy country pub surroundings.
